Andy Martin Cracks Me Up

After a year of very dull (read: healthcare) advertising, Andy Martin sends 2009 out with the most insane, over-the-top radio spot in the history of ever.

Sure, it sounds like an SNL bit, but it really is the candidate going on the radio for 60 seconds to say that there are "solid rumors" that his opponent is gay.

Happy New Year everybody.

I live in Illinois and got an email about this ad from someone sympathetic to Martin. I was disgusted when I found out about this. I am a conservative and it bothers me that Mr. Martin decided to play into the ridiculous stereotype that conservatives are intolerant of homosexuals. When Republicans aren't shooting at each other, they're shooting themselves in the foot. Ugh!

Great post, by the way.

If it's a rumor...how "solid" can it be?

Thanks for the comments. I feel sorry for all the radio station general managers who had to run this ad as a matter of law. And if I was one of the people mentioned in this ad, it would definitely be "talk to my lawyer" time.
